Falasha Zuend is an international public health consultant with experience working with government, non-profit and private sector industry leaders in the United States and abroad to transform the health care landscape by being on the forefront of public health communications. She is skilled at leveraging community based outreach and social media campaigns to create successful targeted and measurable health outcomes. Falasha has demonstrated her ability to use millennial driven research, social media, and online grassroots campaigns to drive measurable public health outcomes.
As a student athlete Falasha studied Interdisciplinary Studies Public Health and took an interest in Minority Health and Communication at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, she began her career returning to her hometown in Washington, DC where the public health disparities were increasingly growing. As she saw an opportunity to make a difference at the community level that would not only affect the lives of people in her hometown, but around the nation. In 2011 Falasha co-founded the DC Pink Divas program and developed the Diva’s Health Model that was an instrumental education tool to teach Lay Health Workers how to reach and educate other women on breast health education. Using the Divas Health Model, DC Pink Divas successfully reached more than 10,000 women for breast health education and mammogram screening programs.
Falasha continued this innovative thinking into her work as a Certified In-Person Assister (IPA) for the Affordable Care Act, where she used public health dissemination campaigns to promote and educate millennial and hard-to-reach populations. As Program Manager she organized more than 40 events across Washington, DC and has presented to elected officials and interviewed across all social media channels, in print, television and radio.
Falasha continues to pursue her passion for Public Health, most recently on a campaign to raise awareness around maternal and family healthy lifestyles for all communities.
As a Public Health Consultant and Content Creator Falasha is dedicated to raising awareness around women’s health issues and focusing on bringing positive images of African American (Black) families, women of color and Black women.
